UKM does not adopt somebody else's referencing style. It publishes its own, Gaya UKM, with its own Malay abbreviations in the reference list. And writing your thesis in English does not exempt you from the Malay pages that go with it. Most 2026 candidates searching who can write my UKM thesis discover both of these somewhere around Chapter 3, with a reference list already built the wrong way.
Independent service โ no university affiliation. ThesisHelper Malaysia is a private academic support provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, accredited by or officially connected to any university, college or examination body shown above. All institution names and marks remain the property of their respective owners and appear here only to describe the proposal formats and submission requirements our writers work with.
Every one of these is published in Gaya UKM. Not one of them is an argument about your research.
Gaya UKM is a referencing style in its own right, with its own conventions and its own Malay abbreviations. A list assembled in APA and then nudged towards it is visible on the first page a examiner turns to.
Writing in English does not remove the Malay title page or the abstrak. Candidates who assume an English thesis is entirely in English find out at submission, when there is no time to have anything translated properly.
The main text and the front matter are not spaced the same way. Setting one value for everything is a two-minute fix at the start and a whole-document rework once figures, tables and captions are placed.
Colour is assigned by degree, not by faculty or by preference. It is the one specification you cannot quietly correct afterwards, because the binder has already done the work.
Gaya UKM prescribes how the title sits on the page and how your name must appear. A title page that merely contains the right words in the right order is not the same as one built to the layout.
Beyond the usual tables and illustrations, the guide provides for lists that some disciplines must include and others never touch. Law candidates in particular arrive with two of them missing.
Not sure whether your references are in Gaya UKM? Send one page of your reference list. That is enough to tell, and it is the fastest thing on this page to check.
Check One Page Free โChapter craft is the same everywhere. These exist because Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia publishes its own style guide.
Its own conventions, its own Malay abbreviations, and its own handling of edited works, compilations, multi-volume sets and undated sources. Chapters that lean heavily on sources โ the literature review above all โ are where the difference compounds.
Malay title page and abstrak prepared alongside the English ones, in the register the guide expects rather than run through a translation tool the week before submission.
Title set the way the guide prescribes, your name exactly as it appears on your identity card or passport, and the degree, faculty and campus in their required positions.
The declaration, acknowledgements and abstract are not spaced like the main text. Set correctly at the start; where format alone is the job, our thesis formatting service handles it separately, and language-only fixes sit with proofreading and editing.
Contents, tables and illustrations, symbols, abbreviations, nomenclature and terms โ and, for law candidates, the lists of cases and statutes that no general template contains.
Cover colour is set by your degree, and the front cover and spine each carry prescribed information. Checked while it is still a conversation rather than a bound volume.
What a sarjana may claim and what a doktor falsafah must claim are not the same, and pitching too high is as costly as pitching too low. See master's thesis help or PhD thesis help for where each line sits.
For candidates writing entirely in Malay. Istilah stays consistent across every bab, and the reference list follows the Malay conventions in the guide rather than English ones with Malay words in them.
Only the reference list outstanding? It can be converted to Gaya UKM on its own, with no chapter work attached.
Price the Reference List โBoth checks run before you pay for anything.
Step two costs nothing and it takes one page.If they are in APA we will tell you straight away, and what it takes to move them.
Send One Reference Page โFour things candidates misread about it, and the reference list is where every one of them shows.
Gaya UKM sets out how sources are cited and listed in its own terms. Treating it as APA with adjusted margins produces a list that is neither, and the difference is obvious to anyone who reads UKM theses regularly.
Compilers, editors, general editors, referenced volumes, chapters in books, works without a date or place โ each has its own short form in the guide, and they are Malay abbreviations even in an English thesis.
Every entry has to be checked individually against the guide, and every in-text citation with it. Doing this at the end, on a list of two hundred sources, is days of work that never had to happen.
The guide has been issued in more than one edition and is published by the graduate centre. Take the current version from them rather than a PDF a senior kept, and check it yourself each intake.
Suspect your list is not in Gaya UKM?Send one page. You will get back whether it is, what is wrong if it is not, and how long moving it would take.
Yes โ Check My Style Now โFrom a published Panduan Penulisan Tesis: Gaya UKM. Editions are revised, so confirm the current one with the graduate centre before relying on any of it.
In the edition we checked, black for a graduate diploma, dark red for a master's or advanced master's, and dark blue for a doctorate. The professional doctorates are listed separately again.
A shape, positioned a measured distance from the top edge of the page.
The body of the manuscript takes one and a half spacing; the declaration, acknowledgements and abstract take single. A new paragraph begins one line below the last line of the one before it.
The guide and the university's own document template both provide for the Malay title, faculty and degree alongside the English ones. Writing in English does not remove them.
The full name of the candidate is typed as it appears on the identity card or passport โ not a shortened form, not the version your supervisor uses, and not the one on your published papers.
The guide sets out printing rules for Rumi and separate ones for Arabic or Jawi script, alongside paper size and duplication requirements. Relevant to fewer candidates, and decisive for those it covers.
A GayaUKM document class exists for candidates who write in LaTeX, and it generates the cover and both title pages for you. Useful if your field already works that way โ and no help at all if your supervisor comments in Word.
UiTM permits a choice of five referencing styles; UM's education faculty mandates APA 7th. Neither of those is Gaya UKM. Our UiTM thesis help and UM thesis help pages cover those, and the contrast is exactly why a borrowed template fails.
Recognise something you have not done yet?Send your degree and one page of your draft. You will get back which of these six your document already meets and which it does not, before you commit to anything.
Yes โ Check My Draft Against These โTwo of these appear only in certain disciplines, and one is only in the guide.
Not sure which of the seven your draft is missing?Send your contents page. Missing front matter shows there before anyone opens a bab.
Audit My Susunan โAll three have supervised or examined postgraduate work in Malaysia. None of them works for UKM.

Point Me to the Right Person โSix things that follow from opening the current Gaya UKM before the first reference rather than after the last.
Each entry is built to the guide as the chapter is drafted. Converting a finished list of two hundred sources is days of work that a decision in week one would have prevented.
An abstrak produced by a translation tool reads like one, and it is among the first things an examiner sees. Ours is written in the register the guide expects.
The guide prescribes how the title sits and how your name appears. Reproducing it approximately is the most common reason a first submission is handed straight back.
Law candidates need lists of cases and statutes that no general template contains. We ask what your discipline requires before assuming the standard set covers you.
Cover colour is set by degree and cannot be quietly corrected afterwards. Front matter, spine and colour are verified while changes still cost nothing.
Nobody here works for UKM or speaks on its behalf. What we hold is the published guide and a good deal of practice applying it โ and where the graduate centre contradicts us, it is right and we will say so.

Hire UKM Thesis Help Now โH.M. had a complete doctoral draft in English and a reference list of just over two hundred sources built in APA, because that was what his reference manager defaulted to and nobody had questioned it in three years. He had also assumed that an English thesis was an English document throughout, and had prepared no Malay title page and no abstrak. He was eleven weeks from his intended submission and had already asked a binder for a quote โ in the wrong cover colour for his degree, since he had matched it to a friend's master's thesis rather than to the guide.
The free check needed one page of his references to establish the problem. The full list was then rebuilt entry by entry to Gaya UKM, including the edited volumes and undated sources where the conventions differ most, and every in-text citation was reconciled against it. His Malay title page and abstrak were written rather than translated, in the register the guide expects. The title page itself was rebuilt to the prescribed layout, and his name corrected to the form on his identity card rather than the shortened version on his published papers. The cover colour was confirmed against his degree before the binding was ordered. His chapters were not touched.
He submitted on his intended date. The reference list took nine days, which is nine days he would not have spent had the style been settled in his first year.
Reference manager set to APA?Send one page. Finding out now costs nothing; finding out at submission costs the weeks H.M. nearly lost.
Check Before I Add More โAn APA list his reference manager had produced for three years, no Malay title page or abstrak, and a binding quote in the wrong colour.
List rebuilt entry by entry, citations reconciled, Malay pages written rather than translated, title page rebuilt to the layout and the colour confirmed.
Not one chapter was touched. The thesis was never the problem.
A finished law dissertation built on a general template, with neither the list of cases nor the list of statutes the guide provides for.
Both lists compiled from the text, checked against every citation in the chapters, and placed in their prescribed position in the front matter.
The material was all already in her chapters. It had simply never been gathered.
A returned submission whose title page contained every required item but reproduced the prescribed shape and position by eye.
Title page rebuilt to the guide, the candidate's name corrected to the form on her IC, and the front-matter spacing values set separately from the body.
Everything needed was on the page. None of it was where the guide puts it.
One of those three sound like yours?Send it the same way they did โ degree, language, and a page of your list. The first reply costs nothing and takes a day.
Fix Mine the Same Way โ"Three years of references in APA because that is what my reference manager opened with."
"I thought an English thesis was in English. Nobody mentioned the Malay title page until week nine."
"My title page had every single item on it and still came back. It is a shape, not a list."
"Law thesis, no table of cases. It is in the guide and it is in no template I could find."
"I matched my cover colour to a friend's. Hers was a master's and mine is a doctorate."
"One spacing value for the whole document. Redoing it after the tables were placed took a week."
"Abstrak saya diterjemah mesin. Pemeriksa yang baca Bahasa Melayu setiap minggu tahu serta-merta."
"They said outright they have nothing to do with the university. That is why I believed the rest."

The reference and front-matter check is free because one page tells us where you are, and because a style decided late costs far more than a style decided early. Nothing on this table buys an examination result โ that is your panel's to give. We have no affiliation with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and no standing to interpret its rules for you, so treat the graduate centre's current edition as the authority and us as people who have read it carefully.
The Gaya UKM reference and front-matter check is free. A title page rebuilt to the layout is RM 260, the Malay title page and abstrak RM 340, lists of cases and statutes RM 470, a full reference list rebuilt RM 590, post-viva corrections RM 660 and viva preparation RM 810. A full tesis sarjana starts at RM 1,980 and doctoral work is quoted by agreement.
It is Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia's own thesis writing and referencing guide, published by its graduate centre, and it is not APA. It sets its own conventions for citing and listing sources, including Malay abbreviations for editors, compilers, volumes and undated works. A list built in APA and adjusted afterwards ends up being neither.
Yes. The guide and the university's own document template both provide for a Malay title page and abstrak alongside the English ones. Writing in English does not remove them, and preparing only the English versions is one of the most common front-matter omissions. Write them properly rather than running them through a translation tool.
Colour is assigned by degree rather than by faculty. In the edition we checked, a graduate diploma takes black, a master's or advanced master's dark red, and a doctorate dark blue, with the professional doctorates listed separately. Confirm yours with the graduate centre before you order binding, because this is the one specification you cannot correct quietly afterwards.
Because the guide prescribes a shape and a position, not just a list of items. The title is set in a particular form at a measured distance from the top edge, and your name is typed exactly as it appears on your identity card or passport. Containing the right words is not the same as being built to the layout.
Two values, not one. In the edition we checked, the body of the manuscript takes one and a half spacing while the declaration, acknowledgements and abstract take single spacing, and a new paragraph starts one line below the last line of the previous one. Applying a single value to the whole document is a rework once tables and captions are placed.
The guide provides for a list of cases and a list of statutes in the front matter, and no general thesis template contains either. Both are compiled from citations already in your chapters, so the material exists โ it simply has to be gathered and placed in the prescribed position.
Yes, a GayaUKM document class exists and generates the cover and both title pages for you. It is genuinely useful if your field already writes in LaTeX. If your supervisor comments in Word, it will create more friction than it removes, so choose based on how your supervision actually works.
Not in any form. Nobody here works for UKM, nobody speaks for it, and we cannot see anything inside its systems. What we have is a copy of the guide it publishes and a lot of practice applying it. That distinction matters: if we tell you something and the graduate centre tells you otherwise, the graduate centre is right and you should follow it.
Yes, at the same rates. Istilah stays consistent across every bab, and the reference list follows the Malay conventions in the guide rather than English ones with Malay words dropped into them โ which is what most machine-assisted attempts produce.
Not the referencing, which is the part most likely to expose it. Models default to APA or a hybrid of everything they have seen, and Gaya UKM is a Malaysian institutional style with far less text behind it. What comes out looks like a reference list and matches no guide at all.
It will produce Malay, and an examiner who reads academic Malay every week will know how it was produced. Technical istilah is where it fails first, because the same English term has different accepted Malay equivalents across disciplines. The abstrak is one of the first pages read, which makes it a poor place to save an hour.
Most Malaysian universities now screen alongside the similarity check, and UKM faculties set their own rules on it. Ask your penyelia what applies to your intake rather than assuming the position a senior described still holds. A thesis written partly in Malay complicates the picture further, since detectors behave differently outside English. Our AI content removal service opens with a free diagnostic.
A review chapter is mostly other people talking, in a register that is deliberately impersonal โ which is exactly the shape detectors were built to notice. Writers working in a second language read as flatter still. The fix is not to rewrite in a panic but to put yourself back between the sources: which study your setting resembles, which one it does not, and what that means for your own question. That is material no model has.
Only the person assigned to your order. Your drafts, data and correspondence are used solely for your work, never reused, never shared, and deleted once the order closes. Nothing identifying you, your penyelia or your faculty is kept afterwards.
Put your own study back into the sentences. Name the setting, the sample, the framework you rejected and why, and the result you did not expect. Generated writing gets flagged because it could belong to any candidate anywhere; nothing about it is yours. Specificity is both the fix and what makes the chapter defensible at a viva.
Detectors were built mostly on English text and behave unpredictably outside it, so a Malay-language score deserves less trust in either direction โ a low one is not a clearance and a high one is not proof. Take the score to your penyelia rather than rewriting on the strength of it.
It will produce something that looks like a reference list. Models default to APA or to a blend of everything they have absorbed, and Gaya UKM is a Malaysian institutional style with comparatively little text behind it. The abbreviations come out wrong, and it invents sources besides โ which is a far more serious problem than a formatting one.
That depends on rules your own faculty sets, and UKM faculties do not all take the same position. Ask your penyelia what applies to your intake and get it in writing. Undeclared use that surfaces at examination is a far worse place to be than declared use that turns out to have been permitted.
Look at where the score concentrates before touching anything. Spread evenly, it usually reflects register rather than generation, which is common for candidates writing formal academic English as a second language. Concentrated in two chapters, it points somewhere specific โ and that is the only place the work belongs.
